EXODUS - MANCHESTER-BASED PROJECTS

Medical Foundation Women’s Textile/Animation

CAN worked with women asylum-seekers who access Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture services to develop a series of animations using both textile and Stop Motion Animation techniques.

The project ran at the end of 2008 with seven women, most of who had never participated in a film/animation project before. Five short animations were produced all exploring different personal stories that the women wanted to share. The women gave extremely positive feedback in the evaluation.

They said that they were both amazed and empowered that they were able to produce and develop animation skills, and that they would be extremely keen to participate in future creative projects.
