FREELANCE ASSOCIATE ARTISTS

CAN have an extensive and constantly evolving database of artists with experience of participatory arts work. On average we employ 60 to 100 freelance artists per year. We also make recommendations to other employers looking for arts workers.

Many of the freelance artists that work with CAN are part of small creative businesses, groups and projects, many that we have helped to get going and encouraged either through regular employment and/or development, training and mentoring.

These include companies such as AfroCats, Britannia Rhumba, Urban Voice, Little Star Productions, Cultural Fusion, Company Fierce, Nyrti Jyoti, Naked Sub Culture, TransAction Theatre and many others.

ASSOCIATE ARTIST SCHEME

In 2004 we launched an Associate Artists Scheme to provide opportunities for professional development and support for our regular freelance artists. The first initiative in this scheme is a promotional DVD showcasing the work of eight associate artists and companies.
