Exodus Festival flyer 2009Exodus site decoration workshops travel across Greater Manchester

From 12 noon on Sunday 18 July, Albert Square will come alive with the Exodus Refugee Arts Festival, showcasing dance and music performances, colourful costumes, delicious food and creative activities from many corners of the world.

During June & July, Community Arts North West will send a team of 5 visual artists into the local community to work with refugees & asylum seekers to create unique handmade site decorations for this year’s festival.

The’ll also be working with the participants to create images of flight and hope for the onsite parade starting at 4pm. We are delighted that this project has grown from strength to strength over the years and engaged communities from across Greater Manchester.

So don’t miss out, come along to the Exodus Festival to see all this exciting work on display.

Artists: Wendy Meadley, Jennifer Vickers, Helen Davies, Hannah Bold and Sarah Mckenzie

Participating organisations: Bolton Red Cross Women’s group, GELL Youth Group in Old Trafford, Oldham Peacemakers, Bury Eagles Wing, George House Trust and Rainbow Haven in Manchester.
