Arts North West are proud to have been nominated for Best
Horror in the First Light Movie Awards 2008!
In 2007, as part of the FirstLight Movies Pilot Award scheme,
Community Arts North West worked with a group of Manchester-based talented young
refugees and young migrants from the Wai Yin Chinese Women's Society. The group
produced a short 5 minute horror film, The News, where they not only
developed the script, but acted, filmed, edited and scored the film too, some
of whom who had never previously made a film before!
The FirstLight Movie Awards 2008 was held at the Odeon Leicester Square on 4th
March and was a star studded glamorous event with stars such as Ian Mckellen and
Kevin Spacey handing out the awards!
Unfortunately we didn't win but it's the taking part that counts and a great
day out was had by all!
