We are recruiting
young people who have an interest in joining the following groups:
Music orchestra
BEAT, CREATE, RHYME, VOICE
Musical Director: Joe Harrison
As part of the Music Orchestra the participants will help the M.D. develop
the arrangement of Composer & Musical Director, Joe Harrison's original score. They will be
performing live music for the production. Their instruments, voices, lyrics
and ensemble playing will combine to add atmosphere, encourage emotion
and help guide the audience's understanding through the production.
The Group will also work closely with MC/Lyric Artist, Samira Arhin
Acquaah; Supporting Music Artist, Emma Welsby and Composer, Jaydev Mistry.

Theatre and script development
SHARE, ACT, DEVISE, PERFORM
Drama Facilitator: Chris Sudworth
In Theatre & script development, the group will take the outline scenes
in this year's script and develop them so that they speak with
the true, immediate and passionate voices of Manchester's diverse
youth communities.
Through spoken word, storytelling, 'realistic' acting and physical
performance styles, the group will work closely with the Production
Director, Chris Sudworth,
and the dance group to tell the story clearly.

Hip Hop and street dance
HIP HOP, MOVE, GROOVE
Choreographer: Jerry Tze
The hip hop dancers will develop a unique dance style which fuses the groove
of street and Hip Hop with the funky style of popping & locking. Working
closely with the African & Contemporary Group, the group will find new
and exciting ways of telling stories through dance.

Digital arts and moving image
FILM, PHOTOGRAPH, EDIT, MIX
Film Artist: Richard Ramchurn
This group will work as the set-creators, the atmosphere evokers, the communicators
of stories through pictures- in other words, you are filmmakers. Participants will
blend photo-montage, moving images and slick digital arts sequences to sometimes
tell stories and sometimes bring the stage to brightly coloured life. We're counting
on this group to excite our senses with their brilliance!

Vocal Artist: Yvonne Shelton
These workshops will involve the development of songs, harmony
and choir work in to the Musical Theatre project, fuses styles
of hip hop, soul and urban vocal styles. Participants will learn

alongside Samira Arhin Acquaah , MC and lyricist alongside Chris
